This new community will also feature internal roads, a water meter room, hydro transformers, a private amenity area, lit walkways, landscaping and parking areas. Additionally, a new road network is proposed, which includes the extension of Dunlop Street to Garden Street and the introduction of a public lane. This should increase accessibility in and out of the neighbourhood to the adjoining neighbourhoods.
Location & Neighborhood
Highbury Gardens Towns is located at 401 Reynolds Street in the Durham Town of Whitby, located just 45 minutes east of downtown Toronto. This suburban region has been a prime location for development due to its proximity to the city, waterfront amenities, and quiet neighbourhoods. It is an excellent place for first-time homebuyers and those looking to settle down and start a family.
The region is filled with restaurants, cafes, bakeries, supermarkets, boutique shops, banks and medical services all within close range. Lush greenery surrounds this area, especially by the waterfront, where nearby parks include Rotary Recreation Park, Robinson Park and Glen Hill Park. The number of parks that reside by the lake will give residents the chance to experience the scenic waterfront views; more parks include Lakefront West Park, Rotary Sunrise Lake Park and Kiwanas Heydenshore Park.
Commuting in and around the city is made convenient by this neighbourhood’s nearness to major roads and highways. Dundas Street and Brock Street sit just two minutes away and connect residents to Highway 401 in under 10 minutes. Not to mention, the 407 Express Toll Route runs through Whitby and can be found in under 15 minutes from this site; connecting commuters to Highway 7, and the City of Markham, Richmond Hill, and Vaughan.

These homes are strategically placed in Whitby’s downtown area with a common goal in mind. The aim of this community is to keep families at the forefront and to further become the community of choice for seniors and job creators. This idea is further propelled by the Places to Grow Act, which will push this community to focus on new growth around the principles of strong, walkable and complete neighbourhoods.
