This is a newly proposed mid-rise development that is being developed through the partnership of The Daniels Corporation and Diamondcorp. Daniels FirstHome™ Markham Sheppard is located in Scarborough only minutes away from shops, restaurants and entertainment options, as well as only ten minutes away from the Highway 401.
 
This is an ambitious project, containing mid-rise elements, stacked townhomes, a new park and over 3,000 square feet of amenity space. It's designed to appeal to a range of residents, especially growing families. Featuring innovative, sustainable architecture, this is a project that is likely to set the standard for new developments in the growing area.
 
Amenities
 
This development project will be a mid-rise condo building containing 310 units. This will include three six-storey mid-rise residential buildings, as well as four three-storey stacked townhouse blocks.
 
There will be 214 mid-rise condo units and 96 townhome units. There will be car entrances via two access points from Orchid Park Drive on the southern side of the property. There are plans for 405 parking spots, including 20 above ground spots. There will be 164 one-bedroom units, 105 two-bedroom units, and 28 three (plus) bedroom units.
 
A range of amenities is proposed for the project. These include community gardens and a greenhouse, as well as outdoor dining and barbecue areas, a children’s play zone, and a parkette with benches and chess tables.
 
Indoor amenities will span over 3,500 square feet, with fitness and programming facilities and entertaining space.
 
With a combination of modern architecture and warm tones, the project will also serve as the first six-storey residential wood-framed development built in the Greater Toronto Area. Using wood-framed structural elements is an innovative move that helps to increase sustainability and decrease development costs. 
 
A network of pedestrian paths throughout will make the development a sustainable, friendly and picturesque place to call home. Daniels really excels at building these kinds of communities and this project is no exception. 
 
Location & Neighbourhood
 
This site has one of the best locations in all of Scarborough. In addition to being only minutes away to Highway 401, it will also be directly on the proposed Sheppard LRT line. The entire city will be at your fingertips.
 
Scarborough occupies the eastern side of the City of Toronto. It is known to be one of the most culturally diverse areas in the Greater Toronto Area, being a great example of Canadian multiculturalism. It also holds the distinction of being the greenest administrative district in Toronto.
 
These condos are located in the neighbourhood of Malvern within Scarborough. A few of Malvern’s highlights are the Rouge River, the Rouge Valley Park, and the Toronto Zoo. The Toronto Zoo is the largest in all of Canada, and they make a considerable effort towards conservation. Toronto Zoo has successfully bred numerous animals, and it has even resulted in the re-introduction of some species. 5,000 animals across 500 different species call the Toronto Zoo home, making it one of the most diverse zoos in the entire world.
 
This condo Project has an 81/100 Walk Score. The Walk Score is bolstered by the development’s proximity to the Scarborough Town Centre, which is able to fulfill almost all shopping needs. In addition to the STC, there’s a wealth of restaurants and bars surrounding the area. This project could also be a great option for students, as it is close to both the Centennial College, and the University of Toronto Scarborough Campus. There is also a variety of transit stops surrounding these condos, yet the transit score will be sure to improve upon completion of the Sheppard LRT Line, which will directly serve this location and provide direct connection to downtown Toronto.
