The developers are partnering with ERA Architects – who specializes in heritage restoration – and KPMB Architects, who skillfully handled the modernization of the Royal Conservatory of Music, which sits just down the street. Proposed for 38 storeys, the tower would include mostly residential use, with a mix of 30 per cent one-bedroom units, 60 per cent two-bedroom and 10 per cent three-bedroom units.

Dimensions are estimated at 445 square feet to 600 for one-bedrooms, 925 square feet to 1,000 for two-bedrooms and between 1,250 to 2,000 for three-bedrooms, plenty of space for young families or those who prefer a more spacious unit to call home.

Pigeon House, which was gifted to the church in 1945 and sits immediately north of the site, will also be included in the redevelopment, most likely connected to the condominium tower’s base.

A small retail or café space will be incorporated into the site, but it’s the restored cathedral, however, that will remain the focus of the property. This is a unique opportunity to invest in a rare contemporary condominium in the desirable Annex neighbourhood, on a site that’s as rich with history as it is with modern amenities.
